The first session of the recently held Western Province Animal Summit (2012) was to forge an animal policy that is appropriate and responsive to the needs of the people of the Western Cape. The Summit was devoted to issues concerning domestic animals only, it did not touch on farm animals though, for reasons which remain obscure.
